One Mistake
Lying in the gutter
of my once proud life
In a matter of a moments
it passed before my eyes
One mistake they told me
would not end your world
where was all their wisdom
as my life unfurled
Was there someone watching
with laughter in their eyes
did an audience gather
witnessing my demise
Mistakes create opportunities
for our souls to grow
learning as we wander
down the path unknown
